However, the production conditions of rock slabs are extremely harsh, and they generally need to be fired in an environment with a high temperature exceeding 1240°C. In terms of water absorption, the water absorption of rock slabs can be lower than 0.02%, which is almost negligible, while the water absorption of ordinary ceramic tiles is generally between 0.3% and 0.5%. Therefore, the surface of the rock slab is almost 100% waterproof and stain resistant. At present, the maximum slab can be 3200×1600mm. The thickness of the rock slab is very thin, which can be between 3mm-6mm, so the application potential in the home is unlimited.

Although rock slabs have so many advantages, they also have the disadvantage of being relatively expensive. This is also one of the main reasons why rock slabs have not yet been widely promoted. Moreover, generally speaking, in terms of market prices, the selling price of imported slabs is higher than that of domestic slabs. Then, why are imported rock slabs so expensive? On the whole, imported rock slabs and domestic rock slabs have slight differences in hardness, high temperature resistance, surface texture and specifications, but they are basically similar. Currently domestic rock slabs and imported rock slabs use almost the same press equipment, but imported rock slabs have unique formulas and technical advantages such as surface enamel and embryo body. Therefore, compared to domestic rock slabs, imported rock slabs can withstand sudden cold and heat, have a slightly higher hardness, and have a delicate and warm surface texture, and are lighter and thinner.
